Gary was born June 30,1935 at home in Vienna, a son of the late Ota Frank and Freda Faye Moore Sheppard. He was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and Marietta College.Gary retired in 1994 with 42 years of service from DuPont, Delrin division, where he received several awards and was proud of the Engineering Excellence Award.He spent 23 years with Professional Services of America, Inc., a business owned by his wife, Judy.He was a lifelong member of Vienna Baptist Church for over 70 years and a life-time member of the Elks.Gary was a true West Virginia Mountaineer and loved all things WV and the Cleveland Indians.He enjoyed fishing, the beach, jigsaw puzzles and in his younger years, building houses with his dad and ballroom dancing. Gary is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 35 years, Judy Kay Mace-Sheppard, who was his dedicated caregiver; a son, Gary Michael Sheppard and wife, Yavonda of Parkersburg, W.Va.; step-son, Robert G. Hyde, Jr. of Parkersburg, W.Va; grandchild, Rachel Lore and husband, Andrew of Parkersburg, W.Va; and two great-grandchildren, Madeline and Mckenzie Lore, whom Gary adored. Also surviving is step-grandson, Kamron Shepherd of Parkersburg, W.Va.; his cat, Victoria; two favorite sisters in-law, Mary Jo Sams of Parkersburg, W.Va and Martha Busch of Belpre, Ohio; and extended family, John Doan and Bizu Admasu. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary Sheppard and cat, Natasha. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Vienna Baptist Church for family only.All others are invited to watch the services via live video stream at: HTTPS://WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/VIENNABAPTISTCHURCH.The service will begin at 10:30 A.M.
