Francis Eugene Vanmeter

Francis "Gene" E. VanMeter, 78, of Parkersburg passed away at his residence due to a long illness on October 14, 2018. He was born June 14, 1940 in Racine, Ohio to the late Carl F. VanMeter and Jessie I Roberts VanMeter Johnson. He was a U. S. Army Veteran. He retired in 1992 from the City of Parkersburg Fire Department. He is survived by his daughter, Angie Atkinson and his sister, Carlene (Steve) McCauley. He has two granddaughters, Santana N. (Tom) Greathouse and Alie K. Peters, 6 great-grandchildren, a nephew, Robert "Bob" VanMeter and several nieces and nephews. There will be no services at his request.
