Forrest "Sam" B. Kinney

January 24, 1930 — July 25, 2024

Forrest B. "Sam" Kinney, 94, treasured husband, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024. He leaves behind an incredible legacy of love and perseverance that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Named after his grandfather, Forrest was born in Parkersburg, West Virgnia on January 24, 1930, to Remington White Kinney and Aimee Ellen Ruth. He went on to serve in the Navy on the USS Boxer during WWII. He married the love of his life, Frances Alberta Stanley, on September 25, 1953. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to enduring love and they celebrated 59 anniversaries side by side until her passing in 2012, after devotedly caring for her through her Alzheimer's battle. Recognized for his many accomplishments and unwavering dedication, Forrest retired as president of the Gulf Coast Group after 37 years of service with Beneficial Management Corporation of America. Forrest was a devout member of All Saints Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas.

He is survived by two daughters, Karen Schadegg (Richard) of Frisco, Texas, and Lisa Fox (Mark) of Brownsburg, Indiana and three sons, Steve Kinney (Penny) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Samuel Kinney of Peoria, Illinois, and Craig Kinney (Heidi) of Gold Canyon, Arizona, as well as 13 grandchildren, Abbey, Aimee, Beth, Brittany, Erin, Jacob, Jason, Jennifer, Kathryn, Lauren, Ryan, Sabrina, & Sam, 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife Frances, he was also preceded in death by his cherished sister Patrica Kinney and his granddaughter, Leah Kinney Wind.

Forrest lived his life to the fullest, always demonstrating faith, love, a sense of humor, and an adventurous spirit. He was an excellent cook, a stickler for routine, and adored spending time with his loved ones – whether it be for holiday gatherings or weekly phone calls. In his later years, he became an avid reader, enthusiastically followed stock market trends, and never missed an opportunity to complete his daily exercise regimens. He is forever loved and will be missed beyond measure. May his legacy live on in the hearts of his family and future generations.
