Everett Thompson, 93, of Parkersburg died, Monday, December 26, 2022 in Parkersburg.
He was born February 20, 1929, a son of the late Cecil and Elsie Buchanan Thompson.
He was a graduate of Wirt County High School, Morris Harvey College (now The University of Charleston), and received an MBA from West Virginia University.
He was certified Public Accountant and retired as a partner from Harman, Thompson, Mallory, and Ice in 1991, ending a 37-year career as a CPA. Previously, he had been employed as an accountant by Fairmont Foods. He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
He was a life-long Methodist and had been an active member of Parkview United Methodist Church where he served for many years as a member of the Finance Committee and of the Administrative Council.
He is survived by his son, David (Fran) Thompson; daughter, Lois Thompson; grandson, Eric (Jennifer) Thompson; great-grandson, Carter Thompson; brother, Howard (Sharon) Thompson; two sisters, Lorena (Oliver) Belt and Shirley Joann (Jim) Wigal; sister-in-law, Mae Thompson; several nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Betty Spessert Thompson; brother, Kenneth Thompson, sister, Ruth Thompson; and an infant sister.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home with Pastor Raymond Maleke officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkview Methodist Church and/or the American Cancer Society are requested.
