Everett "Gene" Kimes

Everett “Gene” Kimes, 63, a lifelong resident of Parkersburg passed away April 13, 2020 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.He was born February 2, 1957 to the late Argil Kimes and Lucille Woodyard Garrison.He retired from the Wood County Board of Education with over 30 years of service.He was a U. S. Navy Veteran with four years of service to his country.He had a love for living life, motorcycles and going to college games with his friends. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Christopher Kimes of Charleston, WV, his sister, Cheryl Kimes of Belpre, Ohio, one niece, Lacrisha (Jeremy) Kimes, of Parkersburg, WV one nephew, Cody (Courtney) Poole of Ontario, OH, a great niece, Chloee and two great nephews, Zayden and Ryder, one Aunt, Edythe Woodyard of Belpre, OH and many cousins.He was also blessed with many friends, too numerous to mention, that remained with him all through life. A special thanks to the Infusion Department at Strecker Cancer Center. Donations may be made to Erickson All Sports Facility in Gene’s name. There will be no viewing or services at this time.A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Kimes Funeral Home is assisting the family.
