Ethan Glen Poole, 83, of Parkersburg, went to be with our Lord November 29, 2018, following a brief stay at Camden Clark Medical Center. Ethan was born on Buck Run in Ritchie County, WV, March 11, 1935, and graduated from Pennsboro High School in 1953.He was the son of the late Howard and Iva Dotson Poole. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jean Reed Poole; two sons, Ethan Allen Poole (Denise Poole) of St Albans and Eric Glen Poole (Anne Casto Poole) of Parkersburg; four grandchildren, Trace Allen Poole and Allie Nicole Poole of St. Albans and Meredith Lauren Poole and Allison Grace Poole of Parkersburg. He is also survived by a brother, Howard Keith Poole (Velma Poole) of Lake Washington, WV, and sister, Sharon Hall (Gerald Hall) of Pennsboro, WV; seven nieces and nephews--Karen Poole Ellison (Bill Ellison), Larry Poole (Brenda Hazel), Bryan Poole (Tammy Poole), Kevin Poole (Brenda Poole), Gerald Hall (Teresa Hall), Michael Hall (Phyllis Church), Terry Hall (Janet Hall) and Mark Hall (Kathy Hall), and several great nieces and nephews. Ethan was a member of the Army Reserves for nine years and was employed by Hope Gas Company for 36 years. He was happiest on his tractor and did landscaping until he was 80 years old. He owned Poole's Landscaping business with his motto, "Quality work at a reasonable price beats inferior work at any price." An avid skater, Ethan owned and operated Pennsboro Roller Rink for 26 years. Ethan enjoyed snow skiing and sky diving. He was a wonderful story teller using these adventures. He enjoyed the Actors Guild Patsy Cline impersonator and he was frequently seen at local gatherings of city park musical evenings and car shows in the area. Friends were entertained by his story telling of his childhood and family memories, mystery trips and magic tricks. Always on the move, Ethan was a private pilot for 8 years and took pleasure in multiple cruises. A lifetime member of the Church of Christ, he worshipped at the Grand Central congregation and hosted the annual church picnics at his home for 25 years.
