Ernest Franklin Whitlatch, Jr, 91, of Parkersburg passed away June 24, 2016 at his residence. He was born February 14, 1925 in Parkersburg, a son of the late Ernest F. and M. Ruth Anderson Whitlatch.He was a U. S. Navy Veteran with 20 years of service, a WWII decorated D-Day Veteran, a member of the Elks, DAV, VFW, American Legion, AmVets, Moose and Eagles Club.He also loved golfing, fishing, football and watching Westerns.He also owned the Dallison Grocery Store for several years. He is survived by Sheila K. Sarver of Parkersburg, his caregiver for 17 years, two brothers, David Whitlatch of Parkersburg, and Eddie Whitlatch of Weston, WV, a sister, Gladys Parsons of Ravenswood, a niece, Christine Miller, of Parkersburg, several other nieces and nephews,and two dogs, Dusty and Tiny. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Marion Whitlatch, two brothers, Danny Whitlatch and Charles Whitlatch and a sister, Audra Vandergrift. Special thanks to David Sarver and also Jeff DeVore for their care and help with Ernest over the years. At his request, he will be cremated and there will be no services or visitation.
