Ernest D. Lafferre, 83, of Washington, W.Va., died Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Camden Clark Medical Center. Ernest was born May 15, 1934 at New England, W.Va., a son of the late Otto and Ora Bell Gladwell Lafferre. He was retired after 42 years service with O. Ames Company.He was a member of the Dupont Road Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran. Ernest is survived by his daughter, Waloni Chittum of Parkersburg; three sons, Darrell Lafferre of Washington, Gerald Lafferre of Parkersburg and Aaron Lafferre (Danielle) of Wexford, Pa.; one brother, Harry Lafferre; seven grandchildren, Ayla Blind, Ashana Long, Ashley Chittum, Brenna Donaway-Bostic, Kai Lafferre, Cheyenne Lafferre and SeanTré Donaway; and eight great-grandchildren, Gracie Blind, Braylen Blind, Izabella Blind,Heather Long, Jordan Long, Jay-Cee Modesitt, Leighton Modesitt, and Ezra Modesitt. He was preceded in death, in 2003, by his wife, Lawanna Eddy Lafferre; two sisters, Violet Moore and Hazel Richmond; and three brothers, Cecil, Lewis and Dale. Funeral services will be 1 P.M., Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg.Pastor Howard Miller will officiate and interment will be in the New England Cemetery.The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M., Monday, March 12, 2018.
