Emma Florence Hall Shank, 92, of Huntington, W.Va. passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 at Heritage Center in Huntington.She suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease for the last two decades of her life. She was born February 5, 1927 to Harvey and Effie (Weaver) Hall in East Mahoning Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. She married John Leroy Shank on March 26, 1948 in Indiana, Penn.Leroy died on September 12, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents and by brothers, Ronald Hall in 1928 and William Robert Hall (survived by wife, Betty) in 2018. She is survived by a brother, James Lavern Hall (wife, Nancy) of Creekside, PA. Florence is survived by a son and four daughters; Harold Leroy Shank and wife, Sally, of Edmond, Oklahoma, Bonnie Jean Young and husband, Dennis, of Salt Rock, W.Va., Vickie Sue Coleman and husband, William, of Indiana, Penn.,Rose Mary Johnson and husband, Donald, of Huntington, W.Va. and Mildred Arleen Sprager and husband, Dave, of Hubertus, Wisconsin. Florence was preceded in death by a daughter, Wilda Mae Wolf who died April 3, 2018. Wilda is survived by her husband, Thomas of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is additionally survived by eight grandchildren; Mary Beth Brown (Gary) of Columbia, Missouri, Andrew Bolinger of Charleston, W.Va., Daniel Shank (Victoria) of Rolla, Missouri, Denise Sloan (Richard) of Raeford, North Carolina, Clifton Bolinger (Marsha) of Milton, W.Va., Emma Bolinger of Richmond, Va., Nathan Shank (Manda) of Edmond, Oklahoma and Timmie Hern of Phoenix, Arizona. In addition, she is survived by ten great- grandchildren in birth order; Tyler Sprager (Milwaukee, WI), Alexis Sloan (Raeford, NC), Elijah Bolinger (Milton, WV), Carina Shank (Rolla, MO), Reese Sloan (Raeford, NC), Etta Rose Bolinger (Milton, WV), Hannah Overturf Shank (Edmond, OK), Wren Bolinger (Milton, WV), Amos Overturf Shank (Edmond, OK) and Mailon Shank (Rolla, MO). She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Florence was a member of the Church of Christ and was a lifelong resident of Indiana County until she moved to West Virginia in 2012. During retirement, Leroy and Florence spent the winters in Mesa, Arizona. Funeral arrangements are private. The Vaughan Funeral Home in Parkersburg, W.Va. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
