Ellen J. Wagoner, 93, of Weston, W.Va. passed away Friday, November 6, 2015 in Parkersburg, W.Va. following an extended illness. Ellen is survived by her daughter, Janis McGinnis and husband, Tom, of Vienna, W.Va.; her son, Clint Wagoner of Key West, Fla.; grandsons, Eric McGinnis and wife, Erica, of Scott Depot, W.Va. and Todd McGinnis and wife, Kim, of Parkersburg, W.Va.; great-granddaughters, Olivia and Anna McGinnis of Scott Depot, W.Va.; great-grandsons, Aidan and Austin McGinnis of Parkersburg, W.Va.; nieces, Susie Myers of Vienna, W.Va. and Penny Green of Jacksonville, Fla.; and nephews, David Linger and Kevin Linger. In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Dr. Charles Wagoner in September, 2008. Ellen was born in Warsaw, Poland, August 26, 1922, daughter of the late Walter E. Joyce and Alina DuPugh-Puszet Joyce. Ellen was an advocate for volunteerism. She began volunteering as a teenager for the Red Cross during the war. Her dedication to causes only increased over the years. She was a charter member and past president of the Theresa Smith Auxiliary at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, was an active member of the Friends of the Lewis Bennett Library Read Aloud program for children and was a board member of Lewis County Senior Center. She was office manager of her husband's dental practice. Our mother was an extraordinary lady of grace and elegance who lived life to the fullest with great passion, humor and love. Her spirit will always be with us. Our family wishes to thank Dr. Brian Powderly, Kate Hasse and all the nurses and staff at Worthington Manor for the excellent care and kindness they gave our mother. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Monday November 9, 2015 at St. Michael's Church, 55th Street and Grand Central, Vienna, W.Va. with Father John Gallagher as celebrant. Services will conclude with entombment in the Three Crosses Mausoleum at Sunset Memory Gardens, Parkersburg. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Parkersburg, P.O. Box 392, Parkersburg, WV 26102 in memory of Ellen. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg, W.Va.
