Elizabeth “Betty Ann” Miller, 94, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Worthington Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Betty Ann was born November 12, 1922 in Vienna, a daughter of the late Samuel C. and Rosa Ann (Wilson) Miller.She was born in the same house where she resided until two weeks ago. She was a 1941 graduate of Parkersburg High School and a graduate of Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tenn.She began teaching in 1942 in a one room schoolhouse in Wadesville, W.Va.Betty Ann also taught for 18 years at Vienna Elementary and retired from teaching in 1984 from Ohio Valley University as emeritus professor in English. Betty Ann was a charter member of the 36th Street Church of Christ in Vienna having taught various age group Sunday School classes.She was a former member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an international honorary for teachers. She is survived by many cousins and friends, including friends and caregivers, Paula M. and Terry Garner of Vienna, Jody Boone, Della Poling and Bobbi Doak. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, June Irene Miller. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the 36th Street Church of Christ, Vienna with Mark Mason and Tom D. Butterfield officiating.Services will conclude with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.Friends will be received from 5 – 8 p.m. Friday at the 36th Street Church of Christ and one hour prior to services Saturday. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg.
