Eleanor V. (Windon) Westfall, of Parkersburg, wonderful and beloved wife and Mother, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. She was born July 1, 1926, in West Milford, West Virginia, the daughter of the late James E. and Malissa A. (Ward) Windon. She was a graduate of Unidis High School, West Milford, Class of 1944. She married Paul R. Westfall on September 7, 1948, and was his helpmate and constant companion. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Parkersburg Chapter of the West Virginia Society of Professional Engineers; member and Secretary of the Mary Jean Gano Circle and charter member of the Tuesday Morning Bible Study Group at Emmanuel Baptist Church; former member of the United Methodist Women, the Altar Guild, and the Rachel Circle at Stout Memorial United Methodist Church; and sang in the choirs at both Stout and Emmanuel.She had been active in the Big Red Band Boosters Association when her sons played in the Band; and was an ardent supporter of all their school and extracurricular activities. She was the proud Mother of three sons: James, of Parkersburg; Brian, and wife Valerie, of Cumberland, Maryland; and Duane, of Radford, Virginia.She often said she enjoyed every moment of raising them. She enjoyed playing the piano for her family, and especially having them gather around her as they all sang hymns and secular selections.She was an excellent gardener, known for the variety of flowers she raised; and also raised a variety of vegetables, many of which she canned and put up for later use. In addition to her Father and Mother, she was preceded in death by one sister, Irene Van Scoy, and two brothers, Denzil Windon, and Martin Windon. Left to cherish her memory, in addition to her husband and sons, are: one brother, Harry Windon and wife Shirley, of Fairmont, West Virginia; one sister-in-law, Shirley Currey, of Ridgway, Pennsylvania; two special nieces, Virginia "Ginger" Kirby and husband Ed, also of Fairmont, and Janet Willis, of Troy, Ohio; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1710-23rd Street, Parkersburg with the Reverend Dr. Kurt Busiek officiating. Friends will be received at Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg, on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm; and Thursday, October 9, 2014, at Emmanuel Baptist Church from 10:00am until the funeral service at 11:00am. Interment will be at the Good Hope Masonic Cemetery, Route 19, Good Hope, West Virginia, at approximately 4:00pm.
