Edward Dale Reed

 Edward Dale Reed, 78, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg.

He was born in Parkersburg, a son of late James and Garnet Postlewait Reed. Ed served ten years in the United States military. After his honorable discharge, he worked as a mechanic and contractor. He loved John Wayne, Elvis Presley, hunting, fishing and PHS Big Reds and WVU Football.

Those left to carry his memory include his son, Dennis Reed, daughters, Maya Brookover (William), Amanda Fuller, and Shelby Cartwright; grandson, Christopher Brookover (Alicia Wilson); and great-grandsons, Jaden and Jase Brookover.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jessica Brookover; sister, Dorothy Doyle; and brothers, Douglas Reed and Dennis Reed.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Kidd officiating. Services will conclude with Military Honors by American Legion Post 15. The Reed family will receive friends 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the funeral home.
