Edward W. Greathouse

Edward W. Greathouse, Sr., 85, of Mineral Wells, WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 4, 2018, surrounded by his family, at Eagle Point Nursing Home. He was born July 11, 1933, in Spencer, WV. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wade J. and Orza (Lee) Greathouse and a brother, Joseph D. Greathouse.Ed is survived by his wife of 63 years, Beryl Ann (Provance) Greathouse, and they were members of Pleasant View Baptist Church where they served the Lord. He is also survived by daughter Pebble (Brian) Freeland, and sons Edward Jr. (Sylvia), Rockie (Pam), and Stoney (Jeanne) Greathouse, a sister Ella Mae (Jerry) Caplinger, and grandchildren, April (Mike) Smearman, Eric, Paige, Cole, Cody, Austin, and Courtney Greathouse and Brant Freeland and great-granddaughter, Grace Smearman. Ed served in the US Navy on the USS Kennedy DD 850 during the Korean War, and he retired from Ames after 45 years. Friends and Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St., Parkersburg, WV with Pastor Jerry Caplinger, Pastor Lloyd Winans and Pastor Bill Sullivan officiating.Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Online condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.kimesfuneralhome.com
