Edna Welling Wigal

Edna Welling Wigal, 81, formerly of Parkersburg, WV, passed away February 25, 2016 at her residence in Zanesville, Ohio. She was born July 3, 1934 in Parkersburg, WV, the daughter of the late John William and Dessie Miller Welling and stepdaughter of the late Elva Mabel Tate Welling. Edna was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church and was very active in the United Methodist Women.She was retired with 20 years of service as a Clerk for the W. O. U. Methodist Credit Union of Cincinnati, Ohio and also worked for Monongahela Power in the accounting department. Surviving is her husband of 61 years, Reverend Roy E. Wigal, her son, John E. (Cecelia) Wigal of Chattanooga, Tennessee, her daughter, Joy E. Wigal (Jonathan) French of Zanesville, Ohio, three grandchildren, Karis French of Zanesville, Ohio, JanelleWigal of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Joel French of Zanesville, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by one step brother, Bernard Moore, and a step sister, Lucille Carmichael. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St., Parkersburg, WV with the Reverend Dave Hubbard officiating and burial following at Big Tygart Cemetery in Mineral Wells, WV.Visitation will be on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Donations are requested to be made to the United Methodist Church of your choice in Edna’s Memory.
