Edith “Edie” Teffer, 76, of Parkersburg, passed away at home surrounded by family and friends with the compassionate care of Amedisys Hospice on Saturday, July 8, 2023.
She was born September 12, 1946, in Elyria, Ohio, a daughter of the late Thomas and Evelyn Ford Teffer.
Edie was a free-spirited soul who loved to travel, fish, and meet new people. She never met a stranger and she would become everyone’s mom. Everyone who met her loved her.
She was her children’s hero, and they were her greatest loves. While she couldn’t always be with her children physically, her love for them never wavered. Edie always did her best with everything she set out to do.
Edie will always be our “Gangster Granny” and she will be missed by her children, Maria Baker (Bill) and Lee Woodlee; grandchildren, Kristopher Baker, Anna Baker, Lee Woodlee II, Taylor Woodlee, and Brett Woodlee; four great-grandchildren; her dog, “Benny”, and special friends that she loved until the end.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Anthony “Tony” Marcucci and her beloved soul-dog, Griffin.
At her request, there will be no public visitation or service. Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home has been entrusted to assist Edith’s family with final arrangements.
