E. Wayne Kemp

E. Wayne Kemp, 83, of Parkersburg, passed away September 18, 2019 at the Parkersburg Care Center where he resided for the last 18 years. He was born February 15, 1936 in Parkersburg and is the son of the late Zetra Lois Burdette and Harrison Kemp. Wayne was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church on New England Ridge. He was well known for enjoying music; he also played the harmonica, dulcimer, and the accordion. Wayne like creating popsicle stick art, collecting stamps and loving his family. Left behind to cherish his memory are his sisters; L. Charlene Franklin (Tom) of Simpsonville, SC, Marian A. Buchanan (Ron) and Charlotte L. Gilbert (Steve) both of Washington, WV; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two nephews, Aaron Buchanan and Timothy Franklin. The family would like to send special thanks to Parkersburg Care Center for the wonderful care the last 18 years. Funeral services will be Sunday September 22, 2019 at 1:30PM at Kimes Funeral Home 521 5th Street Parkersburg, WV 26101 with Pastors Ed Lowe and Mike Richards officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday September 21, 2019 5:00- 7:00PM at Kimes Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Sunday. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made in memory of Wayne Kemp to Fairview United Methodist Church 380 New England Ridge Road Washington, WV 26181.
