D.R. "Dock" Archer

D.R. "Dock" Archer, 84, of Rockport, left this earthly home to be with his sons Jon and Dean October 8, 2016 at Harmar Place Marietta, Oh.He wasborn January 6, 1932 at Parkersburg son of the late James Ray and Georgia Etta Long Archer. Dock was a member of the Big Tygart United Methodist Church, where he previously taught the adult Sunday School Class, retired from O'Ames Co. and is remembered by his family as a hardworker and Loving Father & Husband. Survivors include his wife Dolores Duncan Archer, one son Don Archer (Sandy) of Marietta, three daughters, Patricia Knight (Mike) of Navarre, FL, Janet Scritchfield (Butch) of Rockport, Sherry St.Clair (Mike), of Parkersburg, a Daughter in law Vera Archer of Rockport, Seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by two sons Dean Archer and infant Jonathan Archer. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Wednesday October 12, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Big Tygart United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rod Blanchard officiating. The family will receive guests one hour prior to the service at the church.Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Big Tygart United Methodist Church and also would like to thank Harmar Place of Marietta for their care of "Dock".
