Doris Imogene Smith, 91, of Belleville, WV passed away July 10, 2018 at her daughter’s residence in Parkersburg, WV.She was born May 8, 1927 at her childhood home in Jackson County, WV to the late Lloyd George and Cora Belle Milhoan Burdette.She was a devoted wife and mother and worked on the family farm, canning, and gardening.She was always ready with a smile and was a humble person.She attended Ebenezer Baptist as a child, was a member at Ford Chapel U. M. Church, Coleman Chapel and in later years Sunrise church of Christ. She is survived by two daughters, Judy Spear (Randall) of Belleville, WV and Kathy Kimes-Black (Thomas) of Parkersburg, one grandson, D. Bradley (Kristy) Kimes of Washington, WV, one brother, L. G. “Duge” (Frances) Burdette of Murraysville, one sister Norma DeLong also of Murraysville, and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer E. “Curly” Smith in 1990, an infant daughter, Wanda Lee Smith, two sisters, Hildreth Salser and Janice Walther, and two brothers, Lewis “Teet” Burdette and Thomas Burdette. Friends and Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St., Parkersburg with Evangelist Elvis Galbreath officiating.Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.Visitation will also be on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. also at the funeral home.
