Dora Belle Deem

Dora Belle Deem, 92, of Parkersburg passed away May 20, 2019 at Carehaven of Pleasants in Belmont, WV.She was born January 29, 1927 in Wirt County to the late Harris and Laura Matheny Giffin.She was a member of Trinity U. M. Church, a former Vice President of United Methodist Women and was a former Cub Scout and Girl Scout Leader. Left to cherish her memory is her two sons, Dale Thomas (Christy) Deem of New Martinsville, WV and Stephen Wayne (Diane) Deem of Pataskala, Ohio and her daughter, Marsha Doreen (Michael) Deem of Washington, WV, five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, two brothers, Harvey (Helen) Giffin of Columbus, Ohio and Gerald (Joyce) Giffin ofMadison, Alabama, four sisters, Norma Thomas of Wadesville, WV, Margaret Reeves of Parkersburg, Pauline (Don) McVey of Elizabeth and Hazel Ray (Michael) of Parkersburg and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Deem, three sisters, Edith Freeman, Ada Mae Wade and one infant sister, four brothers, Raymond, Chester, Clyde, and Herman Giffin and one granddaughter. Memorial Donations may be made to Trinity U. M. Church. The Funeral Service will be on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Trinity U. M. Church with Pastor Michael Daniels officiating with burial at Sunset Memory Gardens.Visitation will be on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Kimes Funeral Home, 521-5th St., Parkersburg and from 12:30 to 1 p.m. at the church on Friday.
