Donald Leroy Pepper, 88, of Washington, WV passed away at his home on May 4, 2020. He was a beloved husband to wife Geraldine and loving father to daughter Linda. He was born in Fairmont, WV on November 20, 1931 but resided most of his life at New England Ridge. He attended elementary school in Follansbee, WV and graduated from Parkersburg High School in the class of 1949. He was a member of the New England Baptist Church where he served at times as an ordained deacon, Sunday school superintendent and various other positions. His favorite position was teaching his Sunday school class. He loved God and lived a joyful life interacting with and helping others. We will greatly miss his loving nature and sweet smile. He worked various jobs over his lifetime including 9 years in the gas well fields of S.E. Kentucky. He began employment at Marbon and retired from G.E. Plastics in January of 1992 with 29 years of service in maintenance and as an instrument mechanic. After retirement, he enjoyed working on lawn mowers and doing small engine repairs, mowing, yard work and helping his neighbors. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Geraldine, and daughter, Linda Pepper, of Washington, WV; two brothers, Paul Pepper & wife, Butch, of Weirton, WV and Russell Jr. Pepper (Mabel) of Independence, MD; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Pepper of Weirton, WV; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Brooks Pepper, Sr. and Hazel Hornish Pepper; brother, Franklin; sister, Janet Sutton and brother-in-law, Ed Sutton.
