Donald Morris

Jesus called and Donald C. Morris answered, 93, of Parkersburg passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022. He was born December 10, 1928 in Chloe, Calhoun County, West Virginia, son of the late Earlie Morris and Maysel White Lowther Keith. Don had been employed by the former Penn Metal Company (Keene Corporation) of Vienna and retired from Vaughan Funeral Home after 17 years of service. He was a member of the "Oldies 4-Wheelers Club" and the Baptist Temple where he served as a deacon, trustee, Sunday School Superintendent and was a member of the choir. He was a loving husband and father. His friends were many and meant the world to him. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Melody Ann Charlton (Thomas), Gloria Sue Hersman and Margaret Ellen Bias (Charles); son, Robert Alan Morris (Lori); grandchildren, Kristy, Jonathan, Yettie, Joshua, Danielle and Candace; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild on the way; and the loving residents and staff of Ohio Valley Nursing Home. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Joan "Betty" (Richards) Morris and son, Donald W. "Bill" Morris. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street, Parkersburg, with Dr. Michael Stephens officiating, concluding with interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, Berea, West Virginia.
