Dawn Lee Ferguson Lombardi, 57, passed away October 9, 2014. She was born September 26, 1957 in Ravenswood, West Virginia to Ronald O'Dell Ferguson and Emma Jean Combs Ferguson. She graduated from Ravenswood High School in West Virginia and Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, Florida, where she received her Registered Nursing Degree in 1991. She was a member of Phi-Theta-Kappa in 1990 and 1991. She was selected for Who's Who in American Junior College in 1990. In 2002 she was awarded the Nurse of the Year Award (Intensive Care Unit) at Gulf Coast Medical Center. Dawn was a dedicated mother to her son, Austin, who was the light of her life. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Her specialties were homemade pies and peanut butter fudge, which her family and friends will truly miss. She loved gardening and the Dahlia was her favorite flower. Dawn was an excellent story teller and she captivated her audiences with funny anecdotes. Constantly by her side were her beloved pet Yorkies, Lilly, Teddy and Cubby. Dawn is survived by her son, Austin Michael Lombardi; grandchildren, Emma and Dominic Lombardi; sister, Rhonda Ferguson; brother, Rich Ferguson; niece, Sarah Ferguson; great niece, Pyper Wilson; and many special friends in West Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. She will truly be missed. Dawn is preceded in death by her father, Ronald Ferguson; mother, Emma Jean Ferguson Drennen; and her stepfather, Thomas Drennen. At the request of Dawn, there will be no visitation or service. She will be buried at Pine Hill Cemetery in Ripley, West Virginia. There will be a remembrance of her life at a later date at the convenience of the family.
