Darrell “John” Flesher, 83, of Waverly, WV went to be with his Lord Wednesday, June 9, 2021 after a long illness. He was born October 20, 1937 in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Clark Flesher and E. Lucille Flesher and step-father, Kenner Flesher. John worked in production for Fenton Art Glass 13 years and DuPont, Washington Works 28 years. He was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Oldie Wheelers, and the Waverly Fire Department and he loved gospel music and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Wingrove Flesher; four daughters, Penny Biddle (Nick) of Waverly, Cindy Phillips of Ravenswood, WV, Vicky Eddy (Steven) of Waverly, and Michelle Fritz (Ken) of Waverly; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and step-father, John was preceded in death by his brother, William Flesher; twin sisters, who died at birth; and two sons-in-law, Fred McClung and Ronnie Phillips. Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2021 at Vaughan-Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street, Parkersburg, WV with Pastor Brady Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Waverly. The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
