D. "Mike" Kibbee

David “Mike” Kibbee died peacefully at home on Sunday, March 2, 2025, after a short illness.

He was born in Parkersburg, WV on September 3, 1954, to the late Vincent and Dorothy Weaver Kibbee.

Mike graduated from Parkersburg South High School where he was an outstanding athlete, lettering each year in football, wrestling, and baseball. After graduating he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, and began his career as a union welder. Mike enjoyed fishing, bird watching, and spending time outdoors connecting with nature. He found great comfort in attending Christ Mission Church in Lubeck, WV.

He is survived by his beloved children, D.J. (Kim), Tiffany Christofferson (Nathan), Nick Coleman (April), and Stephen Coleman (Stephanie);  grandchildren, Isaiah, Donovan, Eva, Gabriella “Gabby”, Isabella “Izzy”, Bryan, Brady, Damian “Damo”, Talice, Elise, Emma, Brittany, Brianna, and Stephen; sister and housemate, Beverly Kibbee; and brothers, Vincent Kibbee (Mary Jo), and Gordon Kibbee (Flo). Mike was an animal lover and he is also survived by his faithful companions, Red and Vic.

A Celebration of Mike’s life will be held in September in honor of his birthday, details will be announced when complete. Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home has been entrusted to assist with arrangements.
