Creighton Joe McCullough, 76, of Parkersburg passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016 in The Arbors at Marietta, Ohio from Lewy Body Dementia. Joe, as he was referred to by all, was born Monday, October 9, 1939 in Charleston, WV, a son of the late Harold Creighton McCullough and Wilma Willie Carney McCullough. Joe graduated from South Charleston High School in 1957 and shortly after joined the Army National Guard serving from 1957 until 1965.He was employed in freight transportation his entire career and owned McAlpin along with partner and close friend, Bud Stutler from 1993 through 2013. Joe loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and collecting Civil War memorabilia. He especially enjoyed dancing and along with his dance partner, Kathy Calebaugh could especially do the Shag. Joe loved entertaining family and friends at his home in Parkersburg and was a life member of the D.A.V. He was very proud to be a member of New Hope Baptist Church and his humor and charm will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Joe is survived by his wife, Kathy B. Lewellyn McCullough; two sons, Steven McCullough(wife Shannon) of Dayton, Ohio and Gary McCullough of Parkersburg; one daughter, Cathy Sloan (husband Michael) of Williamsburg, Virginia; former wife, Mary MCullough Cochrane of Parkersburg; one granddaughter, Sydnie McCullough; one grandson, Michael Lanzalotti; two sisters, Dolores Blackwell and Rita Pierro (husband Henry "Hank"); two step daughters, Stephanie Renee Morris (husband Michael) of Houston, Texas and Shannon Renee Mulinex (husband Matthew) of South Charleston; five step grandchildren;Princess, his loving Min Pin dog also survives. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a sister, Anita McCullough. A memorial service to celebrate Joe's life will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 12, 2016 at New Hope Baptist Church, Rosemar Road, Parkersburg with Reverend Tom Stevens officiating.The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service time.American Legion Post 15, Parkersburg will conduct military rites.In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road, S.W., Lilburn, GA 30047 or the charity of your choice.
