Connie Lou Hurst

Connie Lou Hurst, 69, of Lakeland, formerly of Parkersburg, WV, passed away on January 22,
2024, surrounded by her family. She was born March 26, 1954, in Pennsboro, WV, the
daughter of Florence Eddy and Sinsel Satterfield.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother, Rodney, in 2021.

Connie was an avid runner. She ran with the River City Runners Club. She was passionate
about her garden. She was a sports fan and loved to watch West Virginia University and the
Pittsburgh Steelers. She was a member of Hope Freewill Baptist Church, Parkersburg.
On July 15, 1971, she married the love of her life, James Hurst, and celebrated 52 years with
him.

She is survived by her son, James (Angela) Hurst, of Lakeland, and daughter Deliliah. Her
grandchildren, Courtney, Haleigh, Emanuel (Xavier), Elliot, and Sophia. Her great grandchildren,
Quentin, Ronan, Arya, and Ryett. Brothers and Sisters Ruth Collins, Betty Boley, Terry (Wendy)
Satterfield, Diana ( Terry) Freeland, Doug Satterfield, a sister who endlessly cared for her,
Barbara Hite, Roger Satterfield, and Dave Satterfield. Several nieces and nephews.

A private service was held, Friday, January 26 th at First United Methodist Church, Lakeland, FL
with the Rev. Dale Golden officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
