Connie Ann Hinkle, 71, of Parkersburg, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in the Camden Clark Medical Center.She was born at Montgomery, WV, October 23, 1946, a daughter of the late Russel Gordon and Kathryn Ann Minner Hinkle. Miss Hinkle grew up in Swiss, WV and was a 1964 graduate of Nicholas County High School.She was a 1968 graduate of Glenville State College and received her Master's degree from West Virginia University.Connie retired in 2007 after thirty eight years of teaching, including fifteen years at Gilmore and twenty one years at Ripley, both in Jackson County. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Parkersburg and Suzannah Circle. Connie was a member of Country Roads Chapter of the Community Educational Outreach Service. She was chosen 2017 Wood County Belle of C.E.O.S. Connie was a member of the Jackson County Schools Association of Retired Employees. Surviving family and friends include one brother, Joe Hinkle of Charleston, WV; special friends, Alease and Ed Goe of Parkersburg and Karen Anderson of Ravenswood.In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by one brother, John Hinkle. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 29, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, 1001 Juliana Street, Parkersburg with Reverend Dr. Damon Rhodes officiating.Interment will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg.Friends will be received at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. today (Thursday) and one hour prior to service at the church.
