Clara Elizabeth Fulton, 102, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Worthington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 4, 1917 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Clyde Snell and Zella Coon Snell Sprague James. Clara was a member of the South Side Southern Baptist Church and had been a member of the Blennerhassett Civitan Club and the Valley Mills Homemakers Club.She enjoyed quilting and many different crafts. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Hammer of Parkersburg; three grandchildren, Cheryl George (Denny), Al Hammer (Shannon) and Michelle Deems (J.B.); eight great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death, in 1990, by her husband of 51 years, Kenneth R. Fulton; her son-in-law, Argyle Hammer; one sister, Virginia Duke; and two half-brothers, William and Leonard Sprague. Funeral services will be 11 A.M., Friday, May 31, 2019 at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg.Pastor Paul Drake will officiate and burial will be in Parkersburg Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M.
