Cifrigedo “Jeff" Felan Orosco, 67, of Parkersburg, passed away Tuesday June 28, 2016 at Arbors at Marietta, Ohio, after an extended illness. He was born February 15, 1949, in Floresville, Texas to the late Cifrigedo Orosco and Carolina Orosco Murillo. He received his education in Floresville, Texas and moved to Michigan in the late 1960’s. Cifrigedo was a professional driver for thirty-three years. He began his career at Empire Foods, in Parkersburg, where he met his longtime friend, Bill Allison who was his spiritual brother and teacher. Jeff and Bill went to work for Smith Transfer in Belle, WV. Jeff worked at Surface Banana in Parkersburg, WV, and Gainey Transportation in Indiana. He retired from Bulkmatic Transportation, in Belpre, Ohio, in 2002. When Bulkmatic purchased a trucking firm in Monterrey, Mexico, Jeff was selected to train the drivers because he was bilingual. He loved that time, meeting the Mexican drivers and getting to see parts of Mexico he had never seen before. Jeff loved spending time with the children, grandchildren and the great grandchildren. He was the neighborhood Papa to many children over the years. His porch and steps were always full of children telling him of their latest escapade and looking for a candy treat as he sat for hours listening to them. Jeff was also known as the Mexican Santa to many of the Bulkmatic children. He would bring back a Mexican Piñata from his travels each year for the Company Christmas Party and loved sharing his culture and the piñata with the children. Jeff loved the outdoors and looking at the sky, stars and moon from his many travels that led him through the night. He is survived by his wife Nell Higgins Orosco; son Jeffrey Jay Orosco of Belleville, MI; daughters Shelita Maria Orosco Farris (Jason), of Garden City, MI and Carmelita Yvonne Orosco of Davisville, WV: stepsons Robert Tucker (Shannon) of Westland, MI and Ronald Tucker of Inkster, MI; Brian Hillyard (Janice’) of Rigby, ID; Roy Hillyard (Helen) of Marietta OH; stepdaughter Ruth Ann Hillyard Adams (Larry) of Twentynine Palms, California; sisters Maria Ursula Longoria (Juan), Janie Orosco Silva, Adelita Castaneda, Carrie Rosas, Isabel Martinez all of San Antonio Texas and Angelita Orosco of Bradenton , FL; brothers Jesse Orosco of Saginaw MI, Trinidad Orozco (Olivia) of Houston , TX,Johnny Orosco of Fremont , OH,Rosendo Murillo of Kennedy, TX,Andrew Orosco of San Antonio, TX , Abel Orosco of Mabton, WA.; five granddaughters Brittany Shugg (Josh), Victoria Korzep, Megan Shugg, Courtney Orosco and Miranda Marble; grandson Tristan Orosco; great granddaughters Bailey Shugg, Aubree Lynn Boyer and Aliyah Dodson and great grandson Trenton Salyers. Numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews also survive him. In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by brothers Alfredo Orosco, Rosendo Orosco, Fidel Orosco, all of San Antonio, Rudolfo Orosco and Cifrigedo Orosco of Floresville, TX, Joe Orosco of Michigan; sisters Ester Orosco Leal of San Antonio and Lucia Flores and Corina Orosco of Floresville, TX. A celebration of Cifigedo’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Stephenson United Methodist Church, 805 Liberty Street, Parkersburg, WV, with Reverend W. Kent Lowther, Reverend Terry Alvarez and Reverend Lisa Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from noon to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in memory of Jeff to Parkersburg Urban Ministries at 219 11th Street, Parkersburg, WV.Urban Ministries is an organization the Orosco family supported for many years that provide a food pantry and financial assistance to those in need. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the employees of Marietta Memorial Hospital, Belpre ER, ICU, Cardiac Cath Department, PICU, 2 West, Arbors at Marietta and the Davita Dialysis family. The caring, compassionate and special treatment that was given Jeff and the entire family was overwhelming. The family is grateful for Dr. Stephen Hanna who traveled the journey with Jeff from the beginning to the end.
