Charles Jackson Reed

Charles Jackson Reed, 84, of Severna Park, Maryland and formerly of Parkersburg, W.Va. peacefully transitioned into the presence of his savior, Jesus Christ on March 15, 2018 at the Seasons Hospice in Randallstown, Maryland. Charles was born in Parkersburg, a son of the late Charles and Florence Powell Reed. Charles loved his family and was a devoted husband and father. He was a graduate of Sumner High School. Charles was a faithful member of Zion Baptist Church and was retired from the former C & P Telephone Co.He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by two daughters, Diana Taylor of Severna Park, Md. and Renee Keel of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Howard Maupin (Glory) of Washington, D.C. and Jeffery C. Reed (Annette) of Detroit, MI.; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death, in 2013, by his wife of 51 years, Florence L. Clark Reed and by his sister, Betty Ogden. A Going Home Service for Charles will be 11 A.M., Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg.The Reverend Dr. Charles Grays will officiate and interment will be in the Spring Grove Cemetery.The family will receive friends one hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.
