Charles A. Reed

Charles A. Reed, 90, of Williamstown, W.Va. went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 26, 2014 from his residence. Charles was born April 2, 1924 at Williamstown, a son of the late Warren and Nellie Ingraham Reed.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Twila V. Anderson Reed and two sisters, Mary Reed and Ima Miracle. Charles was a US Navy veteran who served in WW II aboard the USS Yorktown.He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and was retired from the International Operating Engineers, Local 132, where he had been an equipment operator for 50 years.He was the fifth generation to be raised and live on the family farm. Charles is survived by one son, John W. Reed (Gay) of Colorado; three daughters, Virginia Cirone of Colorado, Susan Ullum (Don) of Oregon and Sarah Smith (Barry) of Vincent, Ohio; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 11 A.M., Friday, October 3, 2014 at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg.Pastor Rob Vernon will officiate and interment will be in the Burnt Hill Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M., Thursday at the funeral home.
