Bobby "Bob" E. Shinn

August 14, 1936 — October 23, 2022

Bobby E. "Bob" Shinn, 86, of Parkersburg, WV passed away peacefully on October 23 rd , 2022. He was born in Kanawha, Co., WV in 1936 and was the son of the late Floyd E. and Virginia D. Shinn.

Bob attended Elkview schools and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-59. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and was a friend of Bill W. for 38 years. He retired from Chemical Leaman Tank Lines after 31 years and then started the next chapter of his work life. He was Safety Director for Park Tours and then worked for Mid- Ohio Valley Transit (Easy Rider) for 12 years as 11Bob the bus driver".

Driving for MOVTA was his most enjoyable job and he liked helping and assisting his passengers.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Irene Shinn of Parkersburg; son, Robert Shinn (Hillery) of Hampton, NH; daughter, Catherine Habhab (Fadi) of Kfarhouna, Lebanon; grandchildren, Sarah Lodigiani (Michael) of Newburyport, MA, Nora Zaarour (Ali) of Nmeyrieh, Lebanon, Catherine Shinn (Patrick) of Marlborough, MA, and Husain Habhab (Sharay) of Dublin, OH; three great grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret Bergos (Victor) of Myrtle Beach, SC. He relished in the success of his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley and two brothers, Jack and Charles.

The family would like to give a special Thank You to his extended family at the Willows Nursing Home, where he called home for the past year, the team at Camden Clark Hospital One East and Amedisys Hospice for his recent care.

Bob has donated his body to the Human Gift Registry of the WV School of Osteopathic Medicine and no service is planned at this time. A Memorial service may be held in the spring.
