Betty Jane Pickens Boso Betty Pickens Boso of Parkersburg, WV died on July 8, 2017 at Eagle Pointe Nursing Home. She was born in Parkersburg on October 27, 1927, the eldest child of William Leslie and Beulah May Wilson Pickens. She was predeceased by her husband James Parmy Boso in 2015, having been married almost 69 years, and by her parents and brother Billy Alfred Pickens. Betty is survived by three daughters; Nicky Collins (Tony), Terri Santiago (widow of Dr. Ric) and Judy Boso; a sister, Bonnie Pickens Gant, and a brother, Bobby Henry Pickens (Sharon), grandsons James Collins (Stacie), J.J. Santiago (Jennifer), Christopher Santiago, and Pete Santiago (Amanda) and great-grandchildren Christopher Santiago and Cecelia Santiago, and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to her neighbors Eleanor and Tom Egbert for helping her during her last years. Betty graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1945 and worked as a secretary for Dils Ford before becoming a full time mother. She volunteered at St. Joseph's and Camden Clark hospital, enjoyed playing tennis and golf, quilting, lunch with friends, and caring for her rescue dog Bella. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. At her request, no funeral service will be held. A memorial service for the family will be held at a later date. Donations in her name can be made to the Parkersburg Humane Society.
