Barbara J. Payne

Barbara J. (Santee) Payne, 70, of Parkersburg, passed away Friday, October 3, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Parkersburg, August 3, 1944 a daughter of the late Howard Presley Santee and Dorothy Lavada Deem Santee. Barbara was a homemaker, had a strong spiritual belief and especially enjoyed being outdoors.She loved to buy and sell antiques and enjoy her indoor pets, Sophie and Brutus. Barbara is survived by her husband, Leroy Payne, whom she married April 11, 1978; one daughter, Vickie Lee Powell (Jim) of Knoxville TN ; two sons, Robert E. Witt (Laurie) of Broken Arrow, OK and Chris H. Barker (Lori) of Hagerstown, MD; two sisters, Sue Mackey and Nancy Caltrider; one brother, Gary Santee; eleven grandchildren, Daniel, Caylie, Jonathan and Jessica Witt, Ryan and Ashley Caskey, Abigail and Katherine Powell, Kaitlin and Christopher Barker and Wyatt Lenhart; two great-grandchildren, Brody and Lilly James. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Paul K. Witt and two brothers. A Memorial service will be conducted 6:00 P.M. Monday at the Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Chris Pugh, Pastor of the Living Word Church officiating.The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
