Date and Time of Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church posted 8/8/2013 at 2:35:22 PM Alfred B. “Big Al” Marlow, 78, of Parkersburg, W.Va. died Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at his residence. He was born August 30, 1934, at Parkersburg, a son of the late Reverend Cecil and Emma Pauline Gragg Marlow. Mr. Marlow was retired from DuPont, Washington Works after 38 years service. He was a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church and for many years had coached football, baseball and wrestling. He was an avid WVU Mountaineer fan. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy James Marlow; three daughters, Kimberly (Rick) Moore of Farmington, Conn., Brenda (Ed) Michael of Brandon, Miss. and Pamela Rake of Parkersburg; two sons, Randy (Leila) Marlow and Brian (Melissa) Marlow, all of Parkersburg; two sisters-in-law, Betty Marlow and Carma Lehman, both of Parkersburg; one brother-in-law Buddy (Nancy) James of Parkersburg; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Marlow; a sister, Elva Anderson; two brothers-in-law, Paul James and Alfred Lehman; and three great-grandchildren. The family expresses special thanks to the staff of Life Ambulance Service and Housecalls Hospice for their kindness and loving care. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 903 Charles Street, Parkersburg. The Reverend Marjorie S. Bevans will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday and from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg.
